Biography

Monique is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Hong Kong Baptist University, where she is also the Head of the department. Her main research interests include applied econometrics, financial economics and tourism economics. Her work has been published in academic journals such as Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Financial Research, Annals of Tourism Research and others. She is now serving as an Associate Editor of Pacific Economic Review, and an Editorial Board Member of Tourism Analysis. Monique received a BBA and an MSc degree in Economics from HKUST, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southern California.

Research Interests

Applied econometrics, financial economics, tourism economics, analysts’ behavior, macroeconomic indicators measurement.

Biography

Dr. Ronald Tsz-Hin Hung received his Ph.D. in Economics from Hong Kong Baptist University under the supervision of Prof. Monique Shui-Ki Wan. His research applies big data and machine learning to macroeconomics and digital markets, with publications in the Journal of the Operational Research Society and Pacific Economic Review. He co-investigated a government-funded project on Hong Kong’s Daily Online Consumer Price Index, developed from his doctoral thesis, and has been recognized with awards including the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fellowship and the Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme, securing a total of HK$610,050 in funding.

Research Interests

Big data analytics, machine learning, applied econometrics and statistics, macroeconomics (inflation, price stickiness), real estate, digital economics, e-commerce.
